The Canadian Olympic Committee has picked a few gold medal winners to be flag-bearers at Friday’s opening ceremony for the Paris Video games.
Sprinter Andre De Grasse and weightlifter Maude Charron have been named for the honour on Wednesday.
De Grasse, from Markham, Ont., has gained six Olympic medals, together with gold within the males’s 200 metres on the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Charron, from Rimouski, Que., captured gold within the ladies’s 64-kg division in Tokyo.
